p-Cresyl Sulfate is a major uremic toxin found in the blood of patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD), derived from the metabolites of tyrosine and phenylalanine in the liver.

体外活性

Treating NRK-52 cell line with uremic toxins (p-Cresyl Sulfate and Indoxyl sulfate), the data reveals that within 24-96 hours, the cell viability of NRK-52 cells treated with 100μM Indoxyl sulfate（IS） is above 90%, while the cell viability of NRK-52 cells treated with 100μM p-Cresyl Sulfate（PCS） is approximately 80-90%. The results indicate that PCS exhibits stronger cytotoxic effects on rat renal tubular epithelial cells compared to IS [2].
